4 Day Kedarnath Group Tour Itinerary:

Day 1 – Drive from Rishikesh to Guptkashi (via Devprayag): 

All people have to reach the common starting point i.e., Rishikesh, Haridwar or Dehradun Airport. We pick up the group in Rishikesh in the morning and drive to Guptkashi (about 165 km, 6–7 hours. On the way visit the holy confluence of Devprayag and Rudraprayag. In the evening, reach Guptkash. Check into the hotel and rest. The evening can be spent visiting local temples like Vishwanath, if time permits.

Day 2 – Drive to Gaurikund, Sonprayag & Trek to Kedarnath Temple

On day 2, wake up early and have a light breakfast before starting your drive towards Sonprayag. From here take a jeep ride till Gaurikund (about 5 km from Gaurikund). Gaurikund is the trek base and home to hot springs and the Gauri temple. From Gaurikund, start the 16 km trek to reach Kedarnath temple. It typically takes 6–8 hours, so we maintain a steady group pace. Reach kedarnath temple during evening, check-in to your hotel and attend darshan aarti. End your day by having a soulful dinner and rest overnight.

Day 3 – Kedarnath to Guptkashi: 

In case you missed evening darshan, attend the early morning puja at Kedarnath temple (we recommend waking up before dawn). After darshan, trek back 16 km to Gaurikund. From Gaurikund, board your bus or traveller and drive back toward Guptkashi (or Rudraprayag) for overnight. This return drive (around 30 km) is scenic along the Mandakini valley. Overnight stay in Guptkashi or a nearby hotel.

Day 4 – Guptkashi to Rishikesh: 

After breakfast, begin your return drive from Guptkashi to Rishikesh, a 6–7 hour scenic journey via Rudraprayag and Devprayag. By evening, arrive in Rishikesh where your Kedarnath group tour concludes. From here, you can continue with your onward travel plans.

Kedarnath Temple is open from April to October, but the best time to visit is during May–June and September–October, when the weather is clear and pleasant. Avoid planning your yatra between late July and August, as the monsoon peaks during this time, increasing the risk of landslides in the region.

Yes. All pilgrims (including groups) must register for the Kedarnath yatra before visiting the temple. This is a mandatory requirement from the state government. The 16 km trek from Gaurikund to Kedarnath is considered moderate difficulty. The path is well-trodden but steep in places. Basic fitness is required (most trekkers take 6–8 hours to complete this trek.

If you don’t wish to trek 16 km, you can either opt for pony / palki services or a helicopter ride from nearby helipads in phata or sirsi.

Firstly, book a local taxi or bus from Guptkashi to Sonprayag. If you have a car, you will have the option to park the car at Sonprayag and Gaurikund. The 14 km trek starts from Gaurikund to Kedarnath, which you can complete on a horse, palanquin, or foot.

You may face difficulties of lack of oxygen and fatigue during your 16 km long trek to Kedarnath Temple from Gaurikund.

Photography and videography are banned inside the Kedarnath temple. You may take photos of the surrounding landscape and temple exterior, but not inside the shrine where deity is placed.
